How to use this website: There is 12 years worth of APBT information here. To find what you are looking for: 1) Go to the SITE MAP (see above) for all articles grouped by category. 2) Check the tag cloud on the right (those are like categories, the bigger the word, the more stuff is under that tag. No surprise, LUCY is the biggest! 3) Before asking a question, use the search field at the top of each page. Chances are, someone has asked your question before.
About the Site:
This blog is the newest incarnation of lucydog.com, which began in July, 1996. The first version was authored almost entirely by hand. At the time it was just because I wanted to learn HTML, and since we had just moved out of state I wanted to have an easy way to update friends about what was going on with us.
In December, 2007 I moved to the blog format because now that I have tons of sites to update and too many dogs, I needed a faster way to update things. This site has become far more than just a personal website — it has even been used by the news media on numerous occasions. Now that BSL is a threat and I have a lot of information coming my way through various sources, I hope to keep my fellow Texans updated through this blog. I am also maintaining local info for Texas and Oklahoma at the Texoma Bully Breed Outreach site.
Advertising: Over the years it has cost quite a bit to maintain the site, so there is advertising. We are an Amazon.com affiliate. If you shop our Amazon.com book & video list from our site or other affiliate ads shown here, we will get a few pennies to help the site be more self-supporting. Additional advertising is welcomed and will be labeled as such. So if I say “I love Tractor Supply Company,” it’s not because they are paying me to say that. But if they do want to pay me, or give Lucy a little patch to wear on her collar, I am totally OK with that.

I was really bored and typed my dog’s name into google (Lucy Dog) and guess what came up. The funny thing, She’s a pit too. we named her after the late Bradley Nowell’s dog, Lou Dog. Our Lucy is white with black spots. Your Lucy is adorable. Her eyes say it all. Well just thought I’d share that with you. Have a nice night.
Laura,
This website is wonderful.
Jeremiah has a farm behind him with sheep and when we visited him-I loved to watch them.

thank you so much for running a sight like this. i have two pit bulls and they are angels. it breaks my heart that they are so hated. my neighbors even went so far as to try to have them taken away when they moved in because they have kids and “don’t feel safe with pit bulls living near them”. it was absurd. i always bring my babys with me to try to spread the word on the street about the goodness of pitties
Thanks I just rescued a pit at 10 weeks he is now 6 months fawn with violet and taupe eyes. I rescued him after my wonderful dog Zeus a Komondor died in bed at 10 1/2 very shocking. Ocean my new dog named because Zeus loved the Ocean has saved my life and my broken heart. (my cats too)
